High-Impact Practices 1. Honors Research Seminars: Group Mentored Research Experience for Honors Students

The Michigan State University Honors College sponsors a series of small research seminars for first and second year students. Led by faculty, these seminars offer students an opportunity for early engagement in hands-on, innovative research under faculty mentorship. The session will briefly describe the program including examples of previous seminars. In addition, data will be shared related to the effectiveness of these seminars in promoting authentic research experiences in comparison to a more conventional research program involving individual placement of students with faculty.
