Assessment 1. A Framework for Using Key Performance Indicators to Lead and to Share the Honors Story
Dr. Toni Doolen, Oregon State University Honors College
Toni Doolen has her PhD in Industrial Engineering, with a focus on Engineering Management. Her research focuses on applying performance measurement structures and process improvement methodologies to advance both the social (work group performance, individual and team affect, skill development, etc.) and technical (productivity, quality, and cost) aspects of organizational performance. This presentation will provide a framework to use for developing a family of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to enable administrative decision-making and to facilitate a robust process for proactively engaging with stakeholders, internally and externally. Recommendations for creating a comprehensive set of KPIs, integrating KPIs with the strategic planning, and mechanisms for using KPIs to increase advocacy internally and externally in the context of an Honors college will be shared. This presentation will use real experiences from the Oregon State University Honors College.
